The Museum of Chinese America was founded in 1980. John Kuo Wei Tchen and Charles Lai were the ones who began the Museum as a community-based organization. The Museum’s mission is to encourage visitors to not only understand and appreciate Chinese American arts, culture, and history but to gain information and knowledge about Chinese American History.
